All successful people who have become the eyes of the world are early risers. I have also been victim of not being able to wake up in the morning. But as I came to know the immense benefits of waking up early, today I wake up at 5:30 every morning.

Waking up early not only has health benefits but it gives you an edge over your competitors, while they are sleeping you are doing something to get better.

Here are some reasons why you should be waking up early:

 

 

#1. Waking up early allows you to enter the flow state, and gives you an optimal environment to engage in ‘deep work. This one fact alone will increase your productivity tremendously.

 

 

 

#2. You avoid the effects of ‘Ego Depletion, the tendency for our will power to be drained throughout the day. Waking up early allows you to tackle your biggest obstacle straight away. You get to ‘eat the frog’ as Brian Tracey says.

 

 

 

 

#3. You get to have a morning ritual. A morning ritual allows you to perform the activities you need to put you on the right trajectory in life. The morning is yours and you can really do some damage.

 

 

 

 

#4. In the morning you get time to think, and time to reflect on life. You get to consider if you are living life on your own metrics or if you are living in a reactive manner.

 

 

 

 

#5. The psychological advantage you get from waking up in the morning can not be matched. You are exercises your mental fortitude and can carry that throughout the day with you.

 

 

 

 

How much sleep a person’s body needs to function properly the following day is a totally individual thing. You’ll need to experiment for a while to find out your perfect amount of sleep.

And yes, it is possible to sleep too much, and it’s no better than sleeping too little. Too much sleep can make you feel sluggish and drowsy throughout the whole day.
