As long as you take good care of your nails, you can grow them to the length you desire. Growing long and strong nails is a multi-step process. 

Your nails, just like your hair, are composed of keratin. And to accelerate nail growth, the first thing you need to do is to increase your collagen count in the body.

 For that you have pump up your diet with enough proteins, cut down on nicotine, drink enough water and avoid biting your nails, at any cost.


There are several factors which affects nail growth. These include the aging process, hormonal changes in the body, health problems, chemotherapy, medications and nutritional deficiencies.

But the main reason for decreased growth of nails is because of biting,  Nothing slows down nail growth faster than biting them. It’s as simple as that. Biting them, torturing them with inferior quality nail art or using nails as tools – all of them contribute to unsightly nails.

Olive oil is one of the best natural home remedy for nail growth.  Gently apply warm olive oil to your nails & massage for 5 minutes.

 Olive oil contains vitamin E, which stimulates blood circulation and in turn makes your nails grow faster.

Keeping your nails well moisturized is essential for promoting the growth. It penetrates deep into the skin and nails thereby nourishes them.



#2. Orange juice


Let your nails soak in fresh orange juice for 10 minutes!

The abundance of Vitamin C will facilitate the production of collagen which will help to make your nails healthier and stronger with time. It’s a wonderful home remedy capable of boosting your nail development.



#3. Coconut oil


If you’re suffering from brittle nail beds and chipped nails, this is a really great at-home remedy for you. 

Every night before going to bed, massage your nails with warm extra-virgin coconut oil. Doing this will help strengthen your cuticles, moisturize the skin around your nails and will get rid of hang nails.



#4. Lemons


Rub a slice of lemon on your nails for 5 minutes, then rinse them with warm water as citric acid in lemon juice removes decolouration in the nails which strengthens and nourishes cuticles.

 Just like orange, lemon is also considered as a great home remedy for nail growth because of the excessive amount of Vitamin C in them.


#5. Salt


Salt have over 20 beneficial minerals, which can improve the overall health of the nails. Because it contains over a number of minerals it is thus used in various beauty recipes.

It can be used for nail growth too. Dissolve 1 tablespoon of dead sea salt in a cup of warm water and then add 3 drops of rosemary oil. Soak your fingers for 10 minutes, and later rinse and pat dry.


#6. Biotin


It is said that a lot of vitamins are necessary for health growth of nails. In that sense, biotin is an important vitamin which is capable of stimulating the growth of nails as it improves the keratin structure.

Proper supply of vitamins is very much essential for maintaining health in general and nail health in specific.







Having long and strong nails will definitely add beauty to your hands. Your nails are bound to grow every month but it’s upon you to decide whether you want them to grow faster or not.
