If you have Epsom salt, you’re a proud owner of one of the cheapest, most effective natural multi-tasker out there. From getting your kitchen squeaky clean, to adding texture to your hair. 

Don’t confuse Epsom salt with regular table salt. Epsom salt is a pure mineral compound—magnesium sulfate and is an easy and inexpensive source of magnesium. People don’t realize that it can play a major role in their beauty routine.

The best way to use it is by taking a Epsom bath. An Epsom salt bath is quite simple and involves adding a small amount of it to a warm bath and soaking for approximately 15-20 minutes (Remember that it is best to keep the water warm, not hot, as it can actually damage the skin).

While there are not many proven research as to the direct link between these baths and improved health conditions, but some evidence shows the effectiveness of this salt in treating sore muscles and joints.

Athletes are more fond of it to relieve the pain and muscle cramps. Epsom salt bath is known to relief body pain & also reduces inflammation throughout the body.  

Epsom salt has anti-inflammatory properties, which can help ease sore, achy muscles. For optimum pain relief, add two cups of this salt to a warm bath. The warm water breaks down the salt, releasing the magnesium which makes muscle strong and relieves the pain.

 

 

#3. Cleans the skin

Helps to restore the damaged cells & also helps repair them too. Epsom salt is known to exfoliate dead skin cells easily. This will help to give you smooth and soft skin.

Take a handful of it and mix with olive oil or coconut oil. Scrub for a few minutes and then wash off with lukewarm water. Epsom salt also treats Blackheads easily.

The treatment will get rid of excessive oils, which can leave hair looking flat and greasy. Adding Epsom salt to the shampoo or conditioner can help to alleviate itchy scalp also.

As we all know every thing has it’s good and bad part so does Epsom salt, Epsom salt baths are excellent options for many people, but there are a few potential side effects, such as diarrhea or dehydration. However, if you avoid taking excessively long or frequent baths, this shouldn’t be a problem.
