Excited, happy or stressed! It’s the christmas month, no doubt many of you are really excited about it but there are people having troublesome time thinking how to take care of their skin this winter. The temperature difference between the cold outdoors and the dry, warm indoors also causes evaporation of the skin’s natural moisture, which can cause you to experience patches of oily and dry skin.
Your skin needs more than just pampering to keep it healthy and glowing in winter. But don’t worry, the winter Skincare tips are not complicated, you just have to keep a few things in mind. So, get your brain ready to note down some quality skin care tips for this winter:
#1. Protect your skin from sun though it is winter as well:
Though the sun has not most of its effect in winter and you’re covered in layers of clothing, but still it can be make your skin go dark as in winter when temperature drops, skin gets drier. Using an SPF is the number one way to prevent premature aging and keep a youthful and radiant complexion.
#2. Drink plenty of water:
We tend to drink less water in the winter because we turn to hot drinks like cocoa and tea. But remember nothing cleans up skin quicker than water. So, hydrate yourself. Drink lots of water daily, at least 8 glasses if not more. Eat a healthy and high-fiber diet and workout for atleast 15-20 min daily. Add lemon or lime juice for an extra boost.
#3. Do scrub in free time:
In winters, you can limit the number of times you wash your face from 3 times to 2 times and alternatively cleanse your face with cold milk and cotton ball to prevent excessive dryness. Exfoliate gently, just to remove dead skin and if your skin is oily or you’ve got acne then exfoliating twice a week should be sufficient. Overnight skin is in renewal mode and removing dead skin skin prior to bedtime enhances the skin’s function.
#4. Apply essential face pack such as Avocado, Aloe Vera etc. :
Cleansers can be extremely drying to the skin. Instead of it, use natural moisturizing ingredients like honey, avocado, yogurt, olive and jojoba oils, almond oil, bananas, and aloe. Mix what you like together to create a cream or paste, and leave on skin for 10-30 minutes for lasting hydration. Homemade hydrating masks can provide needed moisture in the winter months.
#5. Deep Clean at Night:
On really cold days, carefully wipe a facial toner across your face in the morning to freshen up without damaging the skin’s lipid cover, which is what keeps moisture in your skin from evaporating. But remember to clean your skin thoroughly before going to bed.
Whether it is hot or cold, any extreme condition can easily damage the glow of the skin. More than anything, making sure your skin stays hydrated during the winter is an important step to ramp up in your skin care routine.
