Diabetes can be acquired by anyone at any time in their life. Many people don’t take it’s small symptoms seriously but later they have to suffer more on it.

So, what is diabetes?

It’s is a problem with your body that causes blood glucose (sugar) levels to rise higher than normal. This is also called hyperglycemia. Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of it.

The World Health Organization estimates that by 2030, that number of people living with it will more than double.

When you eat, your body turns food into sugars or glucose. At that point, your pancreas is supposed to release insulin.

Insulin serves as a “key” to open your cells, to allow the glucose to enter — and allow you to use the glucose for energy.  But with diabetes, this system does not work.

Several major things can go wrong – causing the onset of it. Type 1 and type 2 diabetes are the most common forms of the disease, but there are also other kinds, such as gestational diabetes, which occurs during pregnancy, as well as other forms.

Diabetes Type 1:-

With this type, the body’s immune system attacks part of its own pancreas. Scientists are not sure why. But the immune system mistakenly sees the insulin-producing cells in the pancreas as foreign and destroys them. This attack is known as “autoimmune” disease.

Diabetes type 2:-

People with type 2 are able to produce some of their own insulin. Often, it’s not enough. And sometimes, the insulin will try to serve as the “key” to open the body’s cells, to allow the glucose to enter. But the key won’t work. The cells won’t open. This is called insulin resistance.

Here are some of its symptoms which will help you figure out whether you have it or not?

#1. More craving for sugar and carbs

#2. Excess thirst

#3.Frequent visit to the loo

#4. Tingling feet

#5. Exhaustion

You may just pass on these symptoms thinking that they’re normal, but it’s better you get them checked. You may have diabetes & still be unaware of it.
